School Disciplinary Action Rules and Regulations

To maintain discipline, promote positive behaviour, and provide a fair process for addressing student misconduct in alignment with school values and educational goals.

Step 1: Verbal Counselling and Warning

  1. Purpose: To correct behaviour early with a personal approach.
  2. Action:
    • A staff member or administrator addresses the student’s behaviour in a private conversation.
    • The student is reminded of the school’s code of conduct and expected behaviour.
    • A verbal warning is issued and documented in the student’s behavioural record.
  3. Goal: Awareness and self-correction without formal punishment.

Step 2: Written Warning and Detention

    • Purpose: To escalate the consequence while giving the student an opportunity to reflect.
    • Action:
      • A formal written warning is issued and signed by the student and parent/guardian.
      • Detention is assigned (before school, after school, or during lunch) for a specific duration.
      • The student may be asked to complete a reflection form or attend a behavioural session.
Goal: Clear documentation of the incident and structured time for reflection

Step 3: In-School Suspension (ISS) or Out-of-School Suspension (OSS)

  1. Purpose: To impose serious consequences for repeated or severe misconduct.
  2. Action:
    • ISS: The student remains on campus in a supervised environment but is separated from regular classes.
    • OSS: The student is temporarily removed from school (1–5 days), depending on the offense.
    • Parents are formally notified, and a reintegration meeting may be required.
  3. Goal: Emphasize the seriousness of the behaviour and provide space for behavioural change.
  4.

Step 4: Final Warning and Behaviour Contract

  • Purpose: To make the consequences of continued misconduct explicitly clear.
  • Action:
    • A Final Warning Letter is issued.
    • The student and parent/guardian sign a Behaviour Contract outlining expectations and consequences.
    • Failure to meet contract terms may result in termination.
  • Goal: Offer one last opportunity to improve behaviour with full clarity on the stakes.

Step 5: Expulsion / Termination

  1. Purpose: To ensure the safety and well-being of the school community.
  2. Action:
    • Permanent removal from the school following continued or extreme violations.
    • Decision made by the school disciplinary committee, with the right to appeal if applicable.
  3. Goal: Protect the learning environment and enforce accountability at the highest level.
  4.

Special Clause:

  1. Immediate escalation to higher steps (4 or 5) may occur for serious violations such as violence, drug use, or harassment.
  2. All steps are documented thoroughly for transparency and accountability.
